TEDx: Harnessing the Power of the Unknown

We spend our lives figuring out the world through our intellect, strategies and the tools we've been given. But what if I told you that the greatest secrets to innovation, creativity and change lie in the realm of the Unknown? The ancients foretold the future through omens, visions and dreams. We use logic and numeracy but logic is never holistic; it operates on syllogisms that are then abstracted into words and language. Language can keep us locked in the world of the known.

In October 2017, I had the great pleasure of speaking at TEDx Women in Culver City, CA. My talk, Harnessing the Power of the Unknown was about my own personal experiences with creativity, imagination and facing my fears. It’s really about stepping outside of expectations, narratives and stories that keep us locked in the dead zones of imagination. I believe that now, more than ever, we need to harness the power of the Unknown to create the kind of world we want.
